My name is Abbas Saleem Baltee. I was born and raised in an underprivileged area of Khaplu of Gilgit-Baltistan, where I received my early education. I was very fond of painting since my childhood. It was my passion that’s why I always stood first position in every art-competition during my school days. As I was interested in Arts and Paintings, so I had to face multiple challenges and problems in beginning because there was no particular institution in Khaplu of Gilgit-Baltistan to polish my artistic skills.
I always tried and am still trying at my level best to promote the culture of Gilgit-Baltistan through my artistic skills. Due to the lack of Art Exhibition in our region, it was very painful movement for me because I had to keep my painting at home after completing the works. In that context, it was a big issue for me to continue the art work, however, I decided to carry on my art work as well as my studies. Honestly, my family and friends encouraged my determination, so I didn’t need any special institutions to continue my Art work. Art and painting is my hobby and passion. I was able to recognize myself to a leading positions in various competitions of Arts and painting at GB-level.
Afterward, I moved to Islamabad for higher studies where I got admission in commerce in University of Lahore. Owing to the different field, it was tough time for me to maintain the both fine art and commerce, but I continued to fight against the hurdles in my way to lead towards step forward. Now, Alhamdulillah, I am getting opportunities to exhibit my paintings at National and International level. I was awarded score of certificates, shield and prizes in multiple art-competition. And recently, I have completed my master degree in Commerce from the University of Lahore in 2017.
In my opinion success can only be achieved by working hard. Nothing can stop a person if he or she is determined enough. Keep pushing yourself through the hurdles and problems. I am sure no obstacles will be able to stop you from achieving your goals. Hard Work is always rewarded, sooner or later!
